    Description

    Order of Lenin Type 4 «Round» (1943-1956) with Case.

    Type 4 "round" Order of Lenin with case.

    23 Karat gold and platinum with red and grey enamel.
    Suspension is of 2 piece construction (aluminium & steel). Both it and it's ribbon are in very good condition.
    The medal itself is in good condition with the exception of a small chip in the red enamel on the very top and a small scratch in the grey enamel above the bust of Lenin.
    Made and awarded anytime between late 1943 to early 1956.
    The difference between this one and the more common 1956/57 version can easily be seen on the reverse of the medal itself.
    Case's Description:
    Order of Lenin Case.
    Exterior is made of some type of red faux leather with brass hinge and lock. The faux leather bears some
    minor marks all the way around the case.
    Interior consists of a once white silk fabric (now stained) and dark green velvet.
    I don't see any mechanism to hold the medal's suspension in place, it only rests in its place. The medal itself fits in the case perfectly.
